Parents starting a new job or returning to work between 1 May and 30 September 2026 can now apply for Tax-Free Childcare from 1 April 2026. This means you can set up and fund your account in advance, making it easier to plan ahead for childcare costs.

What is Tax-Free Childcare?

Tax-Free Childcare is a government scheme that helps working families manage childcare expenses.

For every £8 you pay into your account, the government adds £2, up to a maximum of £2,000 per child, per year.
