Hi everyone,
A huge thank you to all the families who joined us for May half term.
I hope your children came home with plenty of stories to tell. Whether they were trying laser tag, having a go at fencing or discovering a new favourite activity, it was fantastic to see so many children fully immersed in camp life. One of the best parts of my role is seeing children try something new and realise they’re actually pretty good at it.
June is an exciting month because it marks the start of the Football World Cup. As a football fan myself, it’s one of my favourite events in the sporting calendar.
What I enjoy most isn’t necessarily the football itself. It’s seeing the effect it has on children. Suddenly they’re talking about players they’ve watched the night before, asking to stay outside a little longer and trying to recreate goals with their friends. Sport has a unique way of bringing people together and inspiring children to get active.
As technology continues to evolve, I often find myself thinking about the experiences children will remember most from growing up. AI is developing at an incredible pace and will undoubtedly play a huge role in their future. At the same time, I don’t think anything replaces making a new friend, building confidence in a new activity or spending a day being active with other children.
Those moments still matter.
In many ways, that’s what Rising Stars has always been about. Creating opportunities for children to learn new skills, spend time with friends and create memories away from screens.
The countdown to our summer camps is now officially on and we’re looking forward to welcoming many of your children back over the summer holidays. Emily and the team have put together an exciting programme with plenty of new activities alongside the favourites that children ask us about year after year.
Summer is always one of my favourite times of the year. The days are longer, the children have more freedom and there’s a real sense of excitement in the air.
